Obituary of Patricia Lou "Pat" Peetoom

Patricia "Pat" Lou (Harris) Peetoom , 84 of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 21, 2015, at Heritage Manor in Carlinville, IL. Patricia was born December 18, 1930, in Braman, OK, a daughter of Alva Bryan and Nellie Grace (Stout) Harris. Patricia graduated as salutatorian from Braman High School with the class of 1948. She married Victor C. Peetoom, March 17, 1950, at the First Baptist Church in Braman, OK. As Pat grew up, she moved to various areas of Oklahoma and Texas as her father worked as a roustabout on an oil-well drilling rig. Pat began her career in banking with First National Bank in Braman, and was working there when she was married. Later, she moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma and Louisville, Kentucky where her husband took his ministerial training. She was employed as a teller and auditor for a time as her husband served a church in Bolingbrook, IL. Later cities of residence were Alton and Charleston, IL before they moved to Carlinville in 1990. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, sister; Jane Schalk, brother-in-law; Clarence Rice and son-in-law; Dean Robison. Services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Emmanuel Baptist Church Activity Center in Carlinville, IL. Patricia is survived by her husband, Victor C. Peetoom of Carlinville, IL, son, Steven (Marie) Peetoom of Plainfield, IL, daughter, Roseanna Robison of Carlinville, IL, son, Greg (Johnnie) Peetoom of Tustin, CA, daughter, Jan (Ronald) Klett of Urbana, IL, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sister, Carolyn Rice of San Antonio, TX, several nieces and nephews.
