Janice L. Green 70, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at her residence with her family at her side.
She was born on January 22, 1941 to Leo and Geraldine (Duncan) Heggy in Girard. She graduated from Girard High School with the class of 1960. Janice worked as an Office Administrator for the Secretary of State in Springfield for the past 12 1/2 years. On June 24, 1961 she married Richard Thomas "Shooter" Green in Springfield. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2010.
She enjoyed playing bingo and reading. Jan loved being with her grandchildren and family.
Janice is survived by 2 daughters - LaDonna Watret (husband, Roger) of Virden, Lisa Curtis (husband, David) of Springfield, 2 sons - Rick Green (companion, Tiffany Frakes) of Palmyra, Todd Green (wife, Tew) of Girard, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren , 2 brothers - Gary Heggy (wife, Gloria) of Athens, William Heggy of Virden, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, parents, and a brother, Jeffrey Lynn Heggy.
Funeral Information
Visitation will be held Friday, January 27, 2012 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 10:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, with Rev. Victor Angulo, officiating.
Burial will take place at the Girard Cemetery at a later date.
