65, of Farmersville, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at his residence. He was born Sunday, November 26, 1944 in Tuscola, IL, one of ten children of Harold and Dorothy (Sparenberg) Byers. He married Ruth A. (Heaton) at the First Baptist Church in Litchfield, IL. on June 4, 1966. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School, class of 1962. Russell retired in 2005 after 26 years at Panhandle Eastern Pipeline in Glenarm as a heavy equipment operator. Russell served his country during the Korean Conflict in the Army. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church. Past member of the Masonic Lodge in Virden and Hurst, IL and served as the Past Master. Russell was a past member of the Farmersville Fire Dept. and the Farmersville-Waggoner Ambulance Squad. Russell was currently serving as the Vice Commander of the Everett C. Burton American Legion Post #701 in Waggoner.
