78 of Carlinville, passed away Tuesday at 1:25 AM, December 20, 2011 at Carlinville Area Hospital, Carlinville, IL.

Georgia was born on August 31, 1933 to Harold and Nellie (Wiser) Maguire in rural Carlinville. She graduated from Northwestern High School class of 1952. Georgia married Alan L. Ashby on April 4, 1952 in Carlinville.

Georgia enjoyed her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed making floral arrangements using native plants and botanicals. She owned a shop called "Georgie's Weedpatch" where she sold her creations. Georgia loved the Lord and reading her Bible daily.

Georgia is survived by her husband Alan; 5 daughters, Genny Young of Eureka, IL, Rhonda Coulter (Russell) of Sparta, IL, Mary Robbins (Ted) of Springfield, IL, Margaret Norris (John) of Greenfield, IL and Paula Striplin of Carlinville; 2 sons, Andy Ashby (Cindy) and Jon Ashby (Amy) both of Carlinville; 2 brothers, Pete Maguire (Nance) of Carlinville and Tim Maguire (Donna) of Waterloo, IL; 21 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Georgia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dale West and sister, Jane Adcock.

Funeral Information

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Heyen officiating.

Burial will take place in the Charity Cemetery, rural Carlinville.
